A Personal Letter from Molly D. Shepard - September 2001

I am very excited to be celebrating our first year of success at The Leader's Edge™, the countryâs first leadership development consulting process designed exclusively for senior level women in business. It has been both an interesting and rewarding year, and I would like to share some of the highlights with you:

  • Twenty-seven executive women have graduated from The Leaderâs Edgeú, representing a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, hospitals, accounting, consulting, marketing, banking and higher education. All of them achieved significant success in enhancing their leadership style, becoming more effective communicators, building their networks and creating greater personal impact in their style and delivery.
  • After releasing the findings of our initial research on executive women and the obstacles they face in corporate America, we have recently completed our second study on the profiles of women nearing the top of their organizations. The results have been truly fascinating, and you can access this information on our Research page.
  • We have made presentations on the research to a number of interested groups. Upcoming engagements include such diverse venues as The Wharton Club of Philadelphia, The Advertising Womenâs Club of New York and The Society of Women Engineers.
  • This web site has grown over the course of the year (we have had over 13,000 hits!) and in response to feedback we have added several new pages with even more information and news on executive womenâs issues. Please keep the feedback coming!

The Leaderâs Edgeú continues to address the issues impacting executive women, dramatically improving the insight and awareness of participants, and helping them establish a more effective leadership and communication style. We have found that executive women need to continue to hone these skills, build better networks, think strategically and communicate more effectively as they advance in the ranks of corporate America.
