A Personal Letter from Molly D. Shepard - October 2005
As you may know, The Leader’s Edge recently acquired Leaders By Design, a leadership development and coaching firm for male executives. Headed by Dr. Peter J. Dean, the new division will offer a 9-12 month coaching program to help men assess and analyze their strengths, leadership capabilities and opportunities for continued growth and development. The program focuses on six executive topic areas developed to enable men to appreciate a diverse workforce in a global business environment. The six seminars include:
We are all very excited about this new extension to our product line. Since its inception in 2000, the focus of The Leader’s Edge has been on the leadership growth and development of senior executive women. Over the years, we have expanded our programs to include L.E.A.D., which provides leadership development and training to women at the Director level; the Executive Program for Women of Color, which was designed exclusively for women of African descent; and Women On Board, which was developed to give qualified women the knowledge, skills and self assurance they need to serve as members of boards of directors; and others. Each of these programs was developed in response to a perceived market need and after a careful review of all the relevant issues as well as an analysis of our own internal capability to address those issues. Expanding our service offerings at this juncture to include men was a natural evolution of our service line and was given a good deal of thought and consideration. We are confident that Leaders By Design,in conjunction with our other programs, will give our clients a comprehensive plan for the leadership development of all their senior executives—a necessary and vital tool in today’s changing, global business environment.
