The Leader’s Edge/Leaders By Design has a unique focus and passion for developing diversity in the workforce. At its inception, TLE/LBD was dedicated to working exclusively with high-potential and executive women leaders in order to address the limited representation of women in the highest ranks of American businesses. It is shown through research that women leaders face distinct concerns and challenges as they enter the executive ranks – issues that may derail them or cause them to leave their positions prematurely.
Similarly, TLE/LBD has a unique focus on cultural diversity given the increasing emphasis within corporations on creating a rich and diverse workforce. We have developed a unique understanding of the issues and obstacles men and women of diversity face as they rise through the ranks based on our own extensive research on the subject and through the leadership of our Head of Diversity Initiatives, Deborah Brown. Deborah is seasoned human resources professional whose expertise lies in the areas of diversity and inclusion and developing initiatives to address career barriers and to promote the visibility, mobility and advancement of talented diverse leaders. We believe that minorities in corporate America face significant barriers that can stifle their career opportunities and suppress their potential to contribute at the top levels of their organization.
