The Leader’s Edge™ Expands To Include Men

Bala Cynwyd, Pa…..The Leader’s Edge, an international women’s leadership development organization has announced its acquisition of Leaders By Design, a leadership development and coaching firm for male executives.
“Through this acquisition, The Leader’s Edge will expand its leadership development and coaching services to include men,” said Molly D. Shepard, Founder and CEO of The Leader’s Edge, which has been dedicated to the growth and advancement of executive and high potential women since its founding in 2000. “The workplace has become increasingly complex and diverse, and this has placed extraordinary demands on all leaders,” stated Ms. Shepard.  “The programs developed under the new division will help male executives recognize and understand the intricacies of leadership inherent in a diverse global world.” 

The new executive coaching division for men will also be called Leaders By Design.  Dr. Peter J. Dean, President and Founder of the acquired company, will be President of the new division.  It offers a 12-month coaching program which includes six executive seminars. These have been developed to help men appreciate cultural and interpersonal differences and successfully lead a diverse workforce in a global business environment.  In addition, through personal and leadership assessments, analysis of skills and experience and individual coaching, male executives will better understand their strengths, leadership capacities and opportunities for continued growth and development.

The six seminars include:

  • Seven Essential Leadership Skills
  • Nine Traits of All Successful Leaders
  • Creating Winning Organizations Through Collaboration
  • Global Change in Diverse Cultures
  • Optimal Communications Between the Genders
  • Leadership and the Triple Bottom Line: Profit, People and Posterity

Dr. Dean has served as an international coach and consultant for many Fortune 500 and other companies worldwide.  He currently holds the O. Alfred Granum Chair in Management at The American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and is an Associate Professor of Management and Leadership.  He is a lecturer on Communication, Ethics and Leadership at The Wharton School, and on Leadership in the Public Domain at the Fels Center of Government both at The University of Pennsylvania.  He received his Ph.D. in Learning, Psychology and Human Resource Management from the University of Iowa, a Masters of Science in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Business from Morningside College.   Dr. Dean’s new book, Leadership for Everyone: How to Apply the Seven Essential Skills to Become a Great Motivator, Influencer, and Leader is now available from McGraw-Hill publications and will serve as a basis for coaching senior executive men.
