Molly D. Shepard was named as one of the 50 Best Women in Business by Journal Publications, publishers of the Central Penn Business Journal, Eastern Pennsylvania Business Journal, Northeast Pennsylvania Business Journal, Philadelphia Business Journal, and the Pittsburgh Business Journal. "Women business leaders play a vital role in making Pennsylvania the perfect place to invent the future. And, they're playing a vital role in making Pennsylvania a leader among states and a competitor among nations", said Pennsylvania Governor, Tom Ridge. An awards reception was held at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The complete list of winners was published and circulated statewide on June 1, 2001.
